WHAT’S NEW
We will hold a free event on November 19 (Tuesday) to celebrate the launch of the SSCAP with the seminar titled "Social Responsibility in the Food Industry."
In the food industry, just like in other sectors, companies must engage in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to ensure stable transactions. However, many small and medium-sized food businesses face challenges such as staff and budget shortages, making it difficult to allocate time, personnel, and funds for addressing social responsibilities amidst their daily operations.
The Japan Food Safety Management Association (JFSM) has utilized its expertise gained from establishing food safety standards and managing third-party certifications to launch a new social responsibility initiative. This initiative aims to support food businesses, including small and medium-sized enterprises, in both establishing food safety and fulfilling their social responsibilities.
As part of this effort, we have developed the Sustainable Supply Chains Assessment Platform (SSCAP).
For more information, please visit: [SSCAP](https://www.jfsm.or.jp/ssc/)
At this event, we will address the challenges faced by businesses regarding social responsibility, such as "not knowing how to get started" and "insufficient manpower for evaluating and auditing suppliers." We will introduce the SSCAP as a tool to visualize, assess, and share your company's efforts.
Additionally, experts in social responsibility who contributed to the development of the questions and guidance for businesses within SSCAP will participate in a panel discussion. They will discuss the background and context of the SSCAP's development, as well as the challenges facing the industry.
After the event, we will provide an opportunity for networking among participants in the venue. Drinks and light snacks will be available for you to enjoy.
