Japan Food Safety Management Association (JFSM) has signed two partnership agreements with Total Quality Food Association (TQFA) for the development of the food supply chain in both Japan and Taiwan. Partnership Agreement to Promote Food Safety and Fulfillment of Social Responsibility of Food Businesses in Japan and Taiwan

Japan Food Safety Management Association ("JFSM") and Total Quality Food Association ("TQFA") signed a "Partnership Agreement on Social Responsibility Business ("SSC Business")" on June 26, 2024, at Food Taipei 2024, the largest food industry trade show in Taiwan, to support sustainable development and social responsibility initiatives throughout the food supply chain in Japan and Taiwan. The "Social Responsibility Business (hereinafter referred to as "SSC Business") Collaboration Agreement" was concluded to support initiatives related to the sustainable development and social responsibility of the food supply chain as a whole in Japan and Taiwan.

SSC Business Collaboration Agreement

JFSM will launch a business (SSC business) to promote activities related to corporate social responsibility (CSR) by utilizing its knowledge and experience in international standardization, operation of certified standards, and human resource development accumulated through the development and operation of food safety standards.

Under the SSC business collaboration agreement signed this time, JFSM and TQFA will plan and operate the SSC business together. The addition of the SSC Project to the food safety projects that both organizations have been conducting will serve as a double-edged wheel to support activities that comprehensively enhance the credibility of food businesses in Japan and Taiwan.

As part of these activities, JFSM has developed the Sustainable food Supply Chains Assessment Platform, which reorganizes ISO 26000 (International Standard for Social Responsibility) and provides a set of questions and answers that are tailored to the actual conditions of companies. The platform is scheduled to be operational in October 2024.

Agreed Agreement on Standard Operation Based on Food Safety Management Standard JFS-B Plus

JFSM has developed the JFS-B Plus standard, which corresponds to the international standard capacity building program, and released it in May 2024.
