WHAT’S NEW

For those with a keen interest in CSR, ESG, and sustainability: Invitation to a Seminar for Food Industry Professionals on Sustainable Development (Free of Charge), scheduled for June 27th.

SEMINAR

Japan Food Safety Management Association (JFSM) and the Total Quality Food Association (TQFA, https://www.tqf.org.tw/) have jointly developed the Sustainable Supply Chain Assessment Platform (SSCAP), a social responsibility evaluation tool that small and medium-sized enterprises can easily adopt.

We are thrilled to announce the debut of our new service, SSCAP, at FOOD TAIPEI 2024, Taiwan's largest specialized food industry trade fair. We will be unveiling it to the public for the first time. We will also be broadcasting this event simultaneously to Japan, so we invite you to tune in and witness this momentous occasion.

The viewing is free of charge, and everyone is welcome to participate. Furthermore, the broadcast will take place from the seminar venue in Taiwan and will be simultaneously interpreted into Japanese by our interpreters. If you have even the slightest interest, we encourage you to join us enthusiastically.

What is SSCAP?
【A Tool to Reduce Psychological and Physical Hurdles for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Regarding Social Responsibility】
Engaging in social responsibility initiatives is not easy for many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Voices like "We don't have the bandwidth for that," "We can't get buy-in from the front lines," and "We don't know where to start" are commonly heard. SSCAP contributes to lowering these psychological and physical hurdles with the following features.

- It's a tool to visualize activities related to sustainable development in society.
- While referencing the global standard ISO 26000, it's a service developed in Japan, taking into account the situation of Japanese companies and presented in Japanese.
- It consists of comprehensive content (about 200 questions) covering multiple perspectives such as human rights, environment, and labor.
- With its simplicity and clarity, it's an easy-to-adopt platform, making it easy for companies to engage with.
- Rather than focusing solely on individual companies, it visualizes and collaborates on the social responsibility efforts and challenges of companies connected in the supply chain, equipped with bidirectional communication based on results.
- Through guidelines and e-learning, it serves as a tool to deepen understanding, foster recognition growth, and promote behavioral change by learning about the background, significance, reasons, and necessary actions for corporate social responsibility.
