(Press Release) Twelve Taiwanese food business operators have been registered for the first time under the mutual recognition program of the private food safety standards "JFS Standards" and "TQF Standards" launched to expand the import and export of food
Japan Food Safety Management Association (JFSM) is pleased to announce that 12 Taiwanese food businesses have been registered for the first time under the mutual recognition program between JFS and TQF standards, a private food safety standard launched to expand food imports and exports between Japan and Taiwan.
Partnership Agreement to Promote Food Imports and Exports between Japan and Taiwan
Japan Food Safety Management Association (JFSM) and Total Quality Food Association (TQFA) signed a partnership agreement at the TQFA 2022 Annual General Meeting held on November 30, 2022, to provide continuous support to the Japanese and Taiwanese food industries seeking international business opportunities in terms of food safety certification programs. The TQFA and the TQFA will continue to support the food industry in Taiwan and Japan in their pursuit of international business opportunities in terms of food safety certification programs.
Based on this agreement, two standards, JFS and TQF standards, which are equivalent in conformity certification programs in the food industry sector, have started a program of mutual recognition.
The first 12 Taiwanese food business operators registered under this program and 22 sites that have achieved TQF Standard Level 2 were mutually recognized by TQFA, the certification program owner, and JFSM as having food safety management equivalent to the JFS-B standard, a food safety standard from Japan administered by JFSM. JFSM has mutually endorsed the 22 sites that have achieved Level 2 of the JFSF Standard.
On June 14, 2023, the first 12 companies to register were invited to a mutual recognition award ceremony at the Taiwan-Japan Food Industry Cooperation Seminar held at the Food Taipei International Food Trade Fair.
JFSM will continue to promote mutual recognition of the two standards, JFS and TQF, to enhance brand recognition and credibility among distributors, retailers, and consumers. JFSM will also work to promote the import and export of food products between Japan and Taiwan, creating opportunities for Japanese and Taiwanese food businesses to expand globally.
